Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about using SnapLedge.

  1. My Malaysian banking app (Public Bank, Maybank, CIMB…) flagged SnapLedge as an "unofficial app". Is SnapLedge safe?

Yes — SnapLedge is safe. What you're seeing is a known false positive in how Malaysian banking apps scan your phone for unofficial apps. It affects every Progressive Web App (PWA), not just SnapLedge.

The technical reason: when you tap "Add to Home Screen" in Chrome on Android, Chrome generates a thin wrapper around the web app called a WebAPK. The package name looks like org.chromium.webapk.<hash>and is signed by Google's WebAPK service — not by SnapLedge. Banking apps' malware scanners check installed apps against a list of known publisher signatures, and because PWA wrappers don't match any single publisher, they get flagged for review.

You can safely tap "Proceed" to continue your banking transaction. SnapLedge runs entirely in your browser sandbox, has no access to other apps on your device, and cannot interact with your banking session.

What we're doing about it: publishing SnapLedge as a native Android app on the Google Play Storeis on our roadmap for an eventual future release. It would use a Trusted Web Activity (TWA) wrapper so banking-app malware scanners can verify a stable publisher signature; once it ships, we'll submit allowlist requests to each major Malaysian bank. We don't have a firm date yet — it's a planned step on our post-launch roadmap.

  2. Are my receipts private? Who can see them?

Only you. Receipts are stored in our database with row-level security policies enforced at the database layer — every query is scoped to your user ID, including from our own admin tools. Receipt images are stored in a per-user storage bucket; signed URLs expire on a short timer.

See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

  3. How accurate is the AI extraction?

We use Anthropic's Claude vision models to read your receipt image and extract structured data (merchant, date, total, line items, tax, payment method). Accuracy is typically >95% on clear photos and well-printed receipts. If our primary model returns a low-confidence result, we automatically retry with a more capable model — at no extra cost to you.

Every extraction can be edited from the receipt detail view, so you always have the final say on what gets saved.
