1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SnapLedge (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Description of Service

SnapLedge is an AI-powered receipt scanning and expense tracking web application. You upload receipt images, and our system uses artificial intelligence to extract data such as merchant name, date, amounts, and line items. The extracted data is stored in your account for expense management purposes.

3. AI Accuracy Disclaimer

SnapLedge uses third-party AI models (powered by Anthropic Claude) to extract information from receipt images. While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before relying on it for financial, tax, or business purposes. SnapLedge is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice.

4. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Free Tier & Subscription Plans

SnapLedge offers a free tier (15 receipts/month) and paid subscription plans. Free tier users receive the same core AI extraction features as paid users, with limits on monthly receipt volume and certain analytics features. We reserve the right to modify plan features, pricing, and limits with reasonable notice. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal; access continues through the end of the billing period, after which your account reverts to the free tier.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates the rights of others
  • Use the Service to process documents that are not receipts or invoices
  • Attempt to overwhelm, abuse, or exploit the AI processing system
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without authorization
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorized third parties to access your account
  • Upload images containing malware, explicit content, or personally identifiable information of third parties without their consent

7. Abuse Prevention

We implement automated abuse detection to protect the Service and its users. Accounts exhibiting suspicious usage patterns (such as rapidly exhausting monthly quotas or submitting non-receipt images) may be flagged for review or temporarily restricted. Per-user daily processing cost caps are enforced to prevent excessive resource consumption. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all receipt images and data you upload. By using the Service, you grant SnapLedge a limited license to process your images for the purpose of data extraction. We do not claim ownership of your content. The SnapLedge brand, logo, and software are owned by us and may not be used without permission.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Receipt images and extracted data are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual receipts at any time, which removes both the image and associated data. You can delete your entire account through the Settings page, which permanently removes all your data including receipts, usage logs, and profile information. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

10. Service Availability (No SLA)

SnapLedge is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not offer a Service Level Agreement (SLA). We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the Service that may temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapLedge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from inaccurate AI data extraction, loss of data, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
